My OCLC colleague Eric Childress and I visited the Seattle Public Library this week (both of us for the first time). Most readers will be familiar with the hoopla surrounding the design and construction of this Rem Koolhaas-designed edifice. It is an exceptional building, and a target rich environment for photographers.
I can't say what it is like to work in or patronize the structure, but judging from the friendly staff and volunteers, and many patrons, it seems a success. Where else could you rollerskate from one end of the Dewey to the other?
A few snapshots of our visit can be viewed in the Seattle Public Library photo album.
